WHAT YOU DO
- Platform Design & Development: Architect and implement stable, secure, and resilient platforms for hosting training applications
- Virtualization & Containerization: Manage and optimize virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox, VMware/KVM) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
- Shared Services: Develop and maintain shared services such as PKI, storage, authentication, and additional core platform components
- Automation: Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Performance & Reliability: Monitor platform performance and availability, identify bottlenecks, and ensure SLA compliance
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps and System Engineering teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and ensure infrastructure alignment with application needs
- Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including IAM, encryption, OIDC, PKI, and secret management, ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Documentation: Maintain clear and structured documentation of platform architecture, processes, and configurations
WHAT YOU BRING
- Higher education or university degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
- Several years of experience working as an Engineer in complex infrastructure/platform environments
- Strong scripting and programming skills in Python, Go, Bash
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, Proxmox
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent
- Solid understanding of security practices in infrastructure, including OIDC, PKI, Kubernetes RBAC, secret management
- Familiarity with Kubernetes security and advanced configurations (e.g., RBAC, PSP/Pod Security)
- Exposure to cyber training or simulation platforms is a plus
- Self-driven, proactive, structured working style and strong collaboration skills
- Very good German skills; English (level B2) is an advantage
